Redington Rods
Who here has a redington fly rod? I recently acquired a 8wt, 5 peice rod. When i grabbed the butt end the first thing i thought was that it was a very thin rod (for a 8wt) then later i got out my fenwick 7wt and the butt end was thicker!
Do they make it this way and therfore a lighter rod to use?
Cheers
Rob.

Re: Redington Rods
How old is the Fenwick?
It may just be newer manfacturing technology.
I have a 8wt 5 pc. and is a nice rod.

Re: Redington Rods
Rob,,The Reddington is just a better blank than your Fenny Night hawk. The tapper of most cheaper rods have a wider butt, the Reddington is just normal size, Its good you got a"propper"sized rod, anything under #7 is fairly usless in SEQ, unless your really into Garfish. Cheers Qny

Re: Redington Rods
Redington has been sold off, and evolved into something else. Max

Re: Redington Rods
Max redington have been acquired by sage, and in that case would be devolved not evolved!

Thats a matter of opinion. I understood Sage dissolved the lot and Jim Murphy started something else. Still either way it really doesn't matter. Max

Re: Redington Rods
I heard that Murphy is having his rods made by the same Korean outfit that made Reddingtons. A reddington with another name!

I thought that CD in Kiwiland made reddies before the upheaval. Max
