Got me a reel
i just won this on ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEBWN:IT
should be good to hold 9wt line and a good 300m of backing.
just need a rod now.
anyone know much about these reels.
it's costing me about $56 after shipping. apparently they are about $100 give or take in the stores.

Re: Got me a reel
There are some good bargins to be found on eBay at time. I recently got a Scientific anglers Sytem II with a spare spool + 2 fly lines for $140 bucks. But be aware I have also seen some dodgey stuff on ebay in general so remember. Buyer Beware.

Re: Got me a reel
ok. finally was able to test out this gear today. the reel i have is good. but not great as it doesn't have a drag you can adjust. but the drag won't overspool.
the rod is a Hawk saltwater 9" 9wt.
i'm running 10wt fly line, 250m of 30lb braid and another 100m 30lb mono in the centre so if i get this far i know i'm in trouble
it casts a dream. i've never had the line come out so straight and place so well in the water.
i'd prolly rate the outfit about 7.5 / 10. reasons being no adjustable drag on reel and though the rod casts well is still a lil stiff.
but for $130 who's complaining
