Longtail Sightings
Just a brief message to report on yesterdays sojourn to the northern parts of the bay where we came across numerous small pods of longies - tragically when rushing home for my deckie. By the way they were feeding I suspect it was on very small bait. The pods were fairly evenly dispersed from just on the eastern side of the main channel and across the top of the bay towards Gilligans. Considering the traffic about they weren't too spooky. They seemed to start feeding towards the top of the tide.
Just as a aside, there were acres of herring gorging themselves around the M5 beacon. Amazingly after anchoring around there and feeding burley out and with livies at all depths we didn't get a single hit or see any action for over 3 hours of fishing.
If the current forecast stays true I hope to be out there tomorrow.

Let's hope it's a sign for a good / early start to the LT season
