A great capture. Paul seems to have H Bay pretty wired these days.

    Re: Fraser Island Permit

    Rod,
It was blowing pretty hard and I was holding Paul in position on 2 fish up shallow that did not want to eat. In hindsight I think these could have been big permit, maybe. Paul cast to the fish as they cruised out a little deeper into a darker patch and started stripping he got a tap before suddenly coming tight. The school of around 30 fish followed there hooked up mate for some time.
Fitzy your right about Paul mate. He is very switched on and has intimate knowledge of the bay. What is impressive to me though is his attention to details (except the vegemite rolls) not only in his organization and boat layout but while you are fishing he is constantly fine tuning and coaching. My best mate Chris a pro photographer whom had never caught a fish before was catching tuna in minutes once he mastered the "throw out". With out doubt and not trying to push bullshit uphill, Paul is up there with some of the worlds best guides and he strives to improve everyday. If your reading this Paul remember "nothing suss here"!!

    Cheers

A fella from work was telling me he has landed a couple and been busted off by a few more while fishing for whiting just south of town

I start back at work mid January, so have a little time left to try and find some. Do you know of a good yabby pattern??

Yeh folks pretty special capture that one,and I recon it would happen a lot more if the bay wasn't netted so heavily.I was in touch with the dpi and epa today but didn't really get any where exect for an address to send letters. The Great Sandy Straights Marine Park Draft will be released soon so keep an eye out for it so you get to have your say.

Randall thanks for the kind words mate and as allways it was a pleasure fishing with ya [smiley=2thumbsup.gif].Just wish we could fish together more often I really enjoy the laughter and the fish.Vegemite Rolls nuthin sus here !!! Paul
