HELP TYING FLASHTAILS

Hi all , need some help tying spiraled mylar strand to a hook to be fiixed to salt water lurers to create a flashtail thanks ........ Jimmy

That's something I've been meaning to have a go at myself Jimmy. Have you tried Dan Blanton's site? He has detailed instruction for a flashtail whistler here:

Im guessing the steps for tying in the flashtail itself (steps 5 and 6) should be similar for the flashtail versions of most fly patterns.

Thanks Martin.... checked out the attachment but the yanks are not telling me what I need to know.. eg to fix the tail to the hook in simple terms ....was told by a tackle sales bloke to use dental floss... anyone? Jimmy
