barra INFO
hey
I just released the first 2 barra in 2 my friends damm 2day 1 was about 15cm an the other was about 20cm they started hamering the guppies asoon as i put them in i hav got about another 95 to put in an i have hurd thay the barra need saltwater 2 breed is it true ? and if it is true is there any chance that they could breed at all in just fresh ? i really hope they dont get eaten so i can catch an release them in the future.

hey mate,
Barra need saltwater to breed, and all evidence seems to say it's pretty much impossible without it I hope the stocking works out well

Hi Scotty,
Yes it is true that barra require saltwater to breed, but will actually swap to salt water at about 10mm+. Their eggs and earlly larvae just dont handle freshwater.
