    evolving fish pattern.

Don't need much prompting to post up a wrap.

I'm trying to improve on the 'fish inside a fish' pattern that I like.

Attention - DR, Bear Claw & Probably Mr Precision Rods aka Stuart. [smiley=gorgeous.gif]

Hope the colours are'nt too GIRLY for you this time around.

Roz, not as girly as the last one, very nice as I said in the email. What size thread are you using, I'm guessing C. Have you been tempted by Maderia or Mettler.

    thanks aussiefool

    Owen,

It takes me about 1/2 to 1 hour to measure up the marks and transfer them from graph paper to the rod. After that.....
if I pulled my finger out, I might get that wrap done in under a day, I tend to fuss about too much.

    Myles,

You are 2/3 right, it's a mix of A & C, in speed and gudebrod.

I've never laid eyes on the brands you've mentioned.... should I check out Mud Hole or one of those USA sites?

To all the master rod builders.

I'm glad the colours pass muster!! They still don't show up at all well in the photos.

Roz they are embroidery threads. Cheap and awesome colours. Daves site has the colour chart I think. Smaller dia. than A and it lays and packs well.

Here is a Spaniard I just completed for a customer. It hasn't been coated yet so it still looks like a dogs breakfast. The photo isn't all that great either. Once its don't

A large marlin weave I do for the guys with chair rods. This weave is 115mm long, 25mm deep and takes 8 hours to do. For those in the know it has 450 black background threads and 120 silver threads.

I would trade one of my wraps for one of your weaves any day Stu.

It would have to be the mackerel one.

    Will pm you shortly.
