    680 SF

We are thinking about modifying the transom of our 1992 680 SF. The pods on them don,t continue direct from the hull like the newer models. If we filled this in we hope to achieve a bit more bum lift. Already have trim tabs on it. I think it wuold give the hull a bit more "length" in the water.
    Any opinions????

    hey pall.
i would recomened you get your hands on to a se sport 300 foil, it gave my boat a new lease of life, if you already have a foil on it, i would suggest you do some weight distrabution, bar all that sell the boat and get a new one, lol, works for me just not the mrs, catch ya..

We had one of the original 680's back in the mid 90's and the se foil worked great on it. I've gotta permatrim on my current spearfish and wouldnt have anythin else now.

After seeing how much Ripples HH 213C improved I recon your idea is the best for the 680. What donk is on it??

    Re: 680 SF

Hey Dazza, It would definitely give it more stern lift under way and stern buoyancy at rest. Just remember that if you add some on the bottom, you have to cut down the top well, otherwise the leg wont be long enough (unless you change over to a 30" leg).

Talk with Arnolds fiberglassing, he has done this job on a few 680's before.

On the subject, am considering a 1997 680SF, what year did Haines change to the full pod style transom?

Lol Greg .... I am sure Dazza will find our advice useful

Lee, I thought the 680's went to the full height pod after 1995. I am working from memory, but I would of thought that the one your looking at had a pod that went all the way to the waterline.

Cheers Mark, if it does I reckon I will have a Haines in the driveway before new years
