Solar Power
I run a Evinrude 50HP, with charging circuit. Have two batteries (with switching). Got GPS, Sounder, Lights, Marine radio and normal radio. So want something for when I just sits and waits and run the gear.
Anyone got suggestions for solar back-up charging at a reasonable (cheap) price. Envisage a small panel that I can mount above centre console on a permanent basis and not in the way of rods and heads.

Re: Solar Power
8)Try Super cheap. They have a great variety from around $25 upwards. Its a great idea, and I am just doing the same thing.Do you know the best thing to use when you have you boat shedded for a few weeks to keep your batteries tip top?Try looking at one of their smart battery charges with a float charge.it turns one as the voltage drops, and shuts down when it reaches full charge.Costs around $45. I also have a pulse unit tested by CSIRO that breaks up the sulpher in the batteries and gives up to 5 times the life of the battery. If you want to know more, let me know. They sell for around $99
