Safe anchor system
Hi all
This is a bloody rough drawing but it may help some trying to anchor whilst holding the boat in a cross current. The idea is that you dont need to use front and rear anchor points, that may create a desaster. The rope from the rear of the boat is attached to the main anchor line via the piece in the bottom of the sketch, by moving that up or down the main anchor line it will alter the angle the boat sit in the current, the boat can bob up and down and it just act like a single anchor line, keeping the boat on the desired position
Hope this is of some assitance to somebody, may even save a life.
I am told these devices are available commercially but buggered if I have even seen one.
Made mine out off a 13mm teflon cutting board (boy oh boy was the wife mad, but ya get that)
cheers

Hi Blaze it's a good idea that, you can also put one of these on each side of the boat instead of knotting off. Nq

Hi 0-3
Tell me about the wife being cranky, but as i pointed out to her that one board has made many bits around the boat, just look at the money i save her. Still probable not worth the risk with the average wife(boss)
cheers
