Hi, Could some of you guys post some pictures showing how you have your bowmount electric motors set up on the boat. Just after some ideas as to the best placement.

heres a pic of my 55lb riptide bowmount tiller (what a mouth full)
this is set up on a 385 expolere throphy
heres one from the other end of the spectrum
Michael,
Am I right in assuming that is a transom mount leccy mounted on the bow? with the head reversed?
I have an RT50 (transom mount) that I want to convert to a bow mount. Reversing the head is not a problem but mounting it is. I have a 420 Explorer and I don't want to remove the bow anchor roller etc (else I will have a tough time anchoring!). I could do something like you have but what stops me is this nagging feeling that it will be hard to actually steer the thing.
I have considered making up an extended tiller with a universal joint in it so that I can comfortably drive it from the deck area. Still thinking about that.
I'd be interested in your experience in steering the electric - difficulty etc.
I had my local aluminium guy just weld on a block to mount it. Works very well - just do your height measurement correctly.
Darren
mine is the proper bow mount tiller
I have a Minn Kota riptide 55 ap bowmount and I want to make sure it is mounted in the correct/best spot. It is not a tiller steer. Thank you to those who have posted their picture thus far.

mines just mounted flush to the hull, and bolted.
there is the option of a quick release bracket, something i hind site i should have got.
Hookin,Brett
yeh it wasn't untill ;ast mounth when my electric had a problem that i relised how good the quick release is
i would of hated to undo all the bolts!
Do you find that the tiller steer wants to pull around all the time? I want to get an autopilot when I get mine but....$$$$
does anyone use their freshwater model in the salt? at around 1/2 the price I reckon its gotta be wortyh a shot at the extra maintenance.
The tillers arnt to bad you just give em a nudge with your foot when needed. Mines a 28 pound freshwater model as you can see ,and ive never had a problem in the salt, just maintain it properly. That said if i was rich id have a salty 55 pound remote steer.
cheers
Mick
like landy mine tiller bowmount is fine it is the salt water one but i fish alot of salt and if you do i would highly recomend you go for the salt ones
with the steering it is fine and in fact on a straght strech of water (floting racks) i can just point the thing and it will stay the direction i pointed it untill i move it
i have found that unless you have a big boat or a big casting platfom the foot control can get in the way
where i sit and steer from is vertuale next to the tiller so it is a breeze
