    Haines Hunter Breeze

Has anyone had any experience with or owns one of the Haines Hunter Breeze range of boats, especially the 510 cuddy cab? I understand they have only been on the market for 12mths or so. If so, what options did you get (or wish you had)?
I am thinking of buying the 510 with maybe a 90hp 4 stroke motor. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I don't know about these boats but the horse power seems a bit on the low side.
I would have thought a 115hp to do the job in a four stroke.
What is the manufacturers maximum hp rating for the boat?
Otherwise I have been through the factory at Yatala and they make some nice boats.
    Cheers Kev.

I've spent a bit of time on my mates 580 breeze, it has a 130hp Honda on the back. Good seaworthy boat & the Breeze range is extremely well priced.

While we're talking about the Breeze range... would the 470 Breeze handle getting offshore?

I realise its only small and might be asking a bit much of it.

    Hi Snelly

Check out the "New Boat Info" page on the BoatPoint.com.au site. Just type in the brand in the appropriate slot and after a few secs you can choose what model you want ie "Haines Hunter" in brand then "Breeze 470" in model and bingo. Can look up any new model that way. But to help go straight to the following link:

Oops...hyperlink didn't work so best just copy and paste it into address of internet explorer then hit go etc.

    Hope that helps

OOps again. It appears that the hyperlink did work.

Also forgot to say that the site gives specifications, features and options as well as a picture.

Dont know about the 470 or the 510 for that matter as regards how far off shore their capability is. They appear to be a pretty good boat with the right hull design for close to moderate off shore trips in good weather. I'm afraid I am not too adventurous at this stage in my boating career (only 2 years experience so far) so unless I have another boat with me I tend to stay within sight of land. I'll crawl for a while till I start to walk so to speak.

If anyone knows of their capabilities then please let us know.

    Thanks

    Reel Hard
The specs say 115hp 2 stroke and 100hp 4stroke recommended. They do not say a maximum hp or weight.

One quote I got from a dealer over the net was for both an 80hp 2 stroke and 80hp 4 stroke. Now that would be underpowered I feel. The reason I thought about the 90hp 4 stroke was due to cost considerations ( and specs recommending max 100hp). The 90 being some $2,500 cheaper than the 115.

    Re: Haines Hunter Breeze

Well, I bit the bullet and ordered the Haines Hunter Breeze 510 with a Johnson 90hp 4 stroke (a white Suzuki) and some optional extras. The local dealer gave me a great deal, particularly my trade. Delivery to be around 18 June. That will be a long 4 weeks.

If anyone knows of the performance of the Johnson I would appreciate the info.

    Re: Haines Hunter Breeze

    Congrats on the purchase.

I'm looking at upgrading my Allycraft to one of these things. I'd be interested to know what they're going for these days.
