    Kev - That happens quite often at the bottom of Bribie with wind and tide against each other and surprises a lot of people who dont regularly travel that way. Throw in a bit of easterly swell from outside and it gets very lumpy. Back in Summer when we had those big seas from the cyclones up north I had one ride coming back along the bottom of Bribie that was like crossing a bar. Waves breaking all over the shallow banks so just had to hop on the back of a couple of waves and ride back her in

    Worth it though as there is some good fishing out around the Cape's many reefs, shoals and wrecks.
