Re: run fuel dry after use?
Ive had two merc 2 strokes ,one old blue band 50 ,about 1978 vintage and 1986 oil injected {not used-premix}115 straight 6.The 50 started first time every time and was never run out of fuel due to being used every 2nd weekend. It also was flushed in a bath ,reason being that dissolved oil in the bath from exhaust gases went into water jacket to coat the inside an hopefully slow down corrosion.I want to do this for the 115 but need a bigger bath.I also dont run the 115 dry ,just until it starts to lean out,I will put up with smoky starts for increased longevity.
