    Dam Road Works

Ok guys need your help here. Had to tow my boat over some fresh tar the other day. I now have tar all over the hull, just wondering what would be the best thing to clean this off with that won't damage the gelcoat. Any help would be good.
    Cheers Ron

Try a bit of kerosine, dab it on let it soak in for a few seconds and then wipe it off.
After give it a washdown in soapy water.

    Hi Ron,
A Lanotec product called Citraforce will easily remove it diluted. Won't harm the gelcoat but be carefull not to use it on thermoset plastics as it will damage them. The Main Roads use it for removing bitumen from their equipment and as a general cleaner. Other brands are available, it is just a citrus based cleaner. Most hardwares keep it now and can provide usage guides. Hope this helps. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

    Harry.

Bitumen is cut/thinned with Kerosene for spraying.
Kero is the best and easiest thing to use to remove tar from car boat etc

Dulux Prepsol. A solvent cleaner. Best thing around for removing tar, old sticker glue and for cleaning paint/glass before applying stickers. Won't damage paint either.
