    Len_t,

Have a look at your compliance plate and let us know what the Maximum Horse Power is.
Just want to know how much money I can spend

    Cheers

    Re: suggestions for motor

i'v had a drive in a mates 5.8 hydrofield and that was rigged with twin 50hp hondas it rode great at sea and was able to troll all day with ease and easy on the pocket too but i did think it was very under power
i have a 17foot (5.3M) southwind and that has a yamaha 115 hp on it and i love it but at the end of this year i am re powering it with the 140hp suziki
not that i need the extra power or speed (90km/h in rivers) but when you get a good price on a donk ya don't knock it!
i do belive but if you really want to be putting out to sea and crossing bars a fair bit then the one thing you really want is pleanty of power to get you out of harm and then when you have enogth power add another few horses to be sure
and for your info you should be able to get a new suziki 115 for around $14 000.00
