    a guy offered to rebuild my brown band mercury 90 for 2000 is it worth rebuilding o rdo they have to muuch troubles themmotors

    Save your pennies mate, if you enjoy boating and fishing get something new or near new. You'll thank me in the long run. 2 grand is a desent chunk out of a good second hand 90, just be sure of the engines history and hours.

    How long is a piece of string!
    What exactly was the damage? What exactly does the $2000 fix?
    Have you nailed down really tight what caused the problem?Otherwise you may be - most probably doing the exercise all over again.
    I thought brown bands were good engines, if you spend the money for a full recondition - note i said "full recondition" it will be every bit as good as a brand new one sometimes even better and for around 1/3 the price.nq

    I don't think it would be worth the effort.
    Get something newer now it has died.

    i think it happened cause i forgot to put oil in the fuel after 6 mths ai forgot inever mixed it other wise it was an awesom motor
