Re: Boat Licence - Where?
any one in the cairns region that requires a licence - drop Daintree Boy or myself a message. A mate of ours runs the full DOT approved Course up this way. He was one of the first to be approved in QLD.
Legislation has been in transition for ages - they keep pushing back the date when the old "test" is to drop out. As said above, currently there are two ways to get your licence, with the old "test" set to drop from 1 July 2005, after which you'll have to do the course.

Re: Boat Licence - Where?
Well, I've completed the course!!! YEAH!!! Well, you guys were all right. Archie's was the best setup I have seen, and the guy is an absolute crack up! He asked me where I heard about him, so told him everyone that replied here said to go to him... He was very shocked, and almost embarrased. He did however smile and say that it was obvious the students were the best then!
Didn't stop laughing the whole day, and he certainly has a red car/boat fetish!
So all that's left to do is take the forms to QLD Transport, pay my fee, and I'll see you all out there in the blue! YEAH!!!!

Good stuff Dan...
The day i did my course with him, we had a bunch of Navy guys there doing their tests... gees he gave them some crap. But he's a funny bloke. Does he still have the new Adventura for towing the boat?

Maybe Ausfish should approach him to become a sponsor and have a banner at the top of the screen. It would bring him business and those of us that have been to him already recommend him.
