New Boat - Cruisecraft expl. 600????

Wondering if anyone could give an idea on what would be an acceptable motor level for a Cruisecraft explorer 600. Currently looking at a yam 130hp, but unsure of whether it is needed to upgrade to a 150hp DI or 2 strk. The query is whether it is sluggish with a 130 behind it. want to be able to top speed it around the 75-78 kmh mark. Mainly used for 30 - 60km off shore fishing but also for other activitys.
How does this boat compare to the outsider 575?

Not a Crusecraft BUT,
I've got an Allison 195 Angler . She is 6mtr's long and powered with a 150 HPDI fuel injected 2 stroke Yammie .
Flat out she pulls 5300 revs for 70 Kms or 36 knts .
When I was buying it they were trying to talk me into a 130 4 stroke Honda .
Glad I got the 150 Yammie , I couldnt be happier with the performance [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Put the extra power on now, if its got you concerned go more rather then less. The 130 is old technology go modern DI or 4 stroke, Better fuel economy, quieter, better resale...foxy

I would doubt you Cruisecraft would pull 78k's with the 130. Go for a 150 DI or 4 Stroke, economy will be similar or BETTER with the improved bigger donk, and as foxy said "Quieter" and "Better Re-sale".

"Opimax" has a 575 C'Craft with a 135 Optimax, his performance figures would give you a clear idea on what to expect from the 600 Explorer.

if it were me i would go the max horsepower/weight combination the boat can handle (that is within your budget) - better to have the power to give the low down grunt to keep you on the plane at lower speeds when it gets rough.

for me that wouldn't necessarily mean buying a brand or type (2/4stroke) that i wasn't after, but rather to get the max horsepower possible from the maker/type of engine you are keen on

Will be expensive on fuel with the old saltwater 130 yammie

I would second sportfish on that one. I have a 115 saltwater and its not just the expense but the lack of range. Thirsty little bugger uses up to 45l/hr wot.
