They make the rig look evil, Tim.

Because i like lure fishing at night... and due to living on a river that is heavily crabpotted.. ive resorted to fitting docking lights to the front of my boat.. like a set of headlights.. got a rocker switch on the console.. $69 from Whitworths.. not bad i reckon.. just wonder why i dont see more boats with them

Be interested to hear how they go. I would have thought that lighting would screw up your night vision.
Keep us updated, I've thought about doing this myself.
Corry
Apart from the Dolphin Torch bein pointed in among the mangroves whilst travellin at night ide have to agree with ya there Corry..But like you , yes be interestin to see how they fair ???......
Mindya they do look Mean ...
wont be probably till next week that i give them a whirl at night..
Dolphin torch is why i fitted them, driving a boat and holding a light up at the same time isnt easy.. if you give someone else the torch, they look EVERYwhere else except the water infront of you..
as for Glare, it will glare a bit off the rails.. but nowhere near as much as a spotlight at the back of the boat trying to look forward..
Ive seen a few photos of guide boats from up north that have them.... usually round halogen jobs that are built into the hull... i reckon they will be great for lighting up the creeks and such and main river at night when its pitch black.. im either dodging crabpots or morons sitting in 10ft rowboats in the middle of the channel.. they wont be used constantly, just flicked on occassionally to light up whats infront

What's next Tim, blue or red fluros under the gunnels? , a big doof doof system? Turbo on the new Yammie
Might get a set myself.
lol
I do have fluro's under the gunnels.. not coloured.. wouldnt be hard to setup tho.. got part of a doof doof system.. got a GME CD/mp3 Player setup with 40 watt speakers.. yammie doesnt need a turbo.. its a yammie.. its got the grunt already !!

I think Corry has hit it on the head. I have often thought about getting light or a single light fitted. ( over and beyond a spot light)
Thinking that having head lights on a boat travelling toward you would completly stuff your vision I have not gone with it. My thinking is that the is no real lighting on the water and is generally alot darker than most you would ever drive you car on. Hence if your eyes adjusted to the low levels of light in any normal circumstance have spotties blaring at you would be the last thing I would like.
Zeeke let us know how you go !!!!!
You could try the same trick as they do on bullbars and paint a section of the rails in Matte Black. This will stop the relection. Just do the back half of the rail in the area of the lights.Originally Posted by Zeeke
