Carby diagram
Does anyone have an exploded diagram for a 1977 55hp Evinrude. I have a book for my engine but it covers upto 1975 and there are a couple of differences. One being the low speed needle valve seems to have been replaced by a jet in mine. I want to upgrade my boat in about 6 months so I don't really want to buy the full manual for it if I can avoid it.

Re: Carby diagram
Yeah Kev that jet would probably be there anyway only in other models it has the adjustment screw point regulating it, how does one adjust the low speed circuit on yours?
On an EFI (throttle body) car I have the idle circuit adjustment was plugged at the factory after being 'set'. The dopes had no concept that a new engine and a used engine even low kms need tailored adjustments when the time for a tuneup comes .
Anyway the plug came out with a screwdriver and hammer I guess yours would be the same and you could replace with the proper screw if the jets are the same but dont take my word for it.
Sorry cannot really help.nq
PS some outboard motors have air jets to meter the fuel and some are typical like vehicle jets (fuel) with the air jets you go down in size to richen, so be carefull if you start playing around with it, your particular motors carby's may be the standard variety anyway
