    cruise craft 575

thinking of purchasing a cruiscraft 575 outsider form a yamaha dealer.. I prefer 4 stokes, however the yamaha only come in 115 or 150. looking for advise as to whether the 150 is too big an engine for this size craft.

    haze
all the cruise craft dealers have told me that the most popular set up for the 575 outsider is with a 130 hp 2 stroke.some set them up with 150 hp 2 stroke.
with the 150 4 stroke you would probably have to take into consideration the extra weight.
i have never owned a 4 stroke so i will let other members give you better advise.
    cheers

    Haze,

    Welcome to the site mate

One our regulars on this site recently sold his 575 Outsider that was equiped with a 135 Optimax Merc. This proved to be a good balanced rig.

Other motor options for your Crusecraft would be a 140 4 stroke Suzuki at around 188 kilos (compared to 216 kg's for the 150 Yammie and Honda).

When are the 150 E-techs being released.

You don't have to purchase the motor from the same dealer that is selling the boat !!

    All the best

    Craigie.

    Hi Haze,
A friend has purchased a 575 from Wynnum Marine with a 150/4 Yammie. He loves it and believes it is a perfect combination. I havnt driven it myself.
I wouldnt believe it would have issues with weight or too much power.
    Sounds like a nice rig.
    Regards
    Darren

    Re: cruise craft 575

i know it will all come down to loalaity of dealers and best deals but if it was me i would opt for the suzuki 140 as it come in at pretty much the same weight as most of the 115hp 4bangers
in my mind this would be the best option for that boat but buy from one dealer should bring the price down abit so you maybe stuck with the 150hp
    personly i wouldn't buy any bigger motor that wasn't a 4banger

    hey haze

    # #a mate of mine has a 575 outsider fitted with a 150 #4 st yamaha.the weight isnt a problem and it has some serious top end speed #.he shopped around and the best deal he got was to buy the boat from bribie boats and the motor from sundown.and that was cheaper than a full setup from wynnum. ??? ???
    cheers scott.

    Haze,
I have a 575 with a optimax 135. Am as pleased as punch. gets to nearly 40 knotts, probably a little over if I could find some smooth water. some times wish I went to the 150 as I like to travel high speed but am finding excellent economy range is around 23-28 knotts-3800-4200 rpm

    Re: cruise craft 575

G'day Haze, I have a newish 575 Explorer with the Yammi 130 2-stroke and I couldn't be happier with it and its performance. I bought the boat with only 230 hours on it and the previous owner had kept it like new, however, he had swiped his electronics to be transfered to his new boat (I guess). I bought a Navman 5600 and a Navman 4600 together with the Navman fuel flow transducer and I have not quite got it calibrated yet. Anyway, in a week or so, I will be able to accurately define what sort of economy I get and various throttle openings. I have no problem at all in achieving 35 knots (GPS speed).

    Keep on boating...
