    Yamaha EFI?

    Looking at some of the used boats for sale in the US, I see that some are powered by Yamaha EFI outboards.

    Is that a HPDI, or do Yamaha sell an EFI motor overseas?
    I'm pretty sure over here the motors are either carby or HPDI, no EFI (unlike the Mercs which are EFI over here).

    Anyone know what the story is?

    Just terminology mate I think . As you would know the HPDI is a two stroke . Yamaha refer to their four strokes that are fuel injected as EFI engines . Some smaller fours are/were carby engines . If the new 115 in the box at home is not an EFI four banger I want my money back !!.
