    transduder water deflector

    Been done before but
my problem is that sine fitting my trim tabs i am getting a spray off the transducer which in turn is hitting the tab, forming a rooster tail and some of the spray sucks back into the boat.
Ok, I can lift the transducer about 5mm (dont want to as it works really well where it is.
Take the tabs off (no way)
Make a cover (done that) but before fitting it I was wondering what is the prefered shape
I will take a pic later of what I made for your thoughts, what I dont want to do is create more spray.
    cheers

Can you mount a rear boarding step of some type over it??

I have the same idea planned for the tabs also! a folded and welded step so some numbscull doesn't use the trim tabs for purchase when boarding or when snorkeling or skiing. Should work for your problem also.

NB. I think you got the only set of manual tabs in existance buggered if I can research any esp your brand!

not sure what yours are like, but I've got a mate with trim tabs on a 17 haines (old) - they work very well, but are controlled by two winding levers in dash area - no hydralics. not sure if you can still get them, but good for smaller boats and i'd say they'd be a lot cheaper than hydralic, electric models.

Why don't you cut a hole in the floor and get a through the hull transducer, (you old fibre glass expert you).
That would save stuffing around with more bits of crap screwed to the transome.
    Cheers Kev.

Worth remembering that it's handy to be able to get at the tranny from inside the boat in case it gets flipped up by weed or something.
Mate of mine had his under the pod and if it flipped, he had to wait till he got home to click it back into place.
    Cheers,

Blaze Put deflectors on my water pickup and transducer only to find water from the motor leg sprayed onto the deflector and up even worse than at first so extended both deflectors. Perfect now.
