    jrc ff50 / furuno gp32 setup

    Hello

Just came back from the Sydney boatshow with a jrc ff50 and a furuno gp32 - will be putting them into a haines signature 520c. Any suggestions, tips, tricks etc on fitting this equipment would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

measure and run the wires and check ten times before you start to cut or mount anything because once you start there is no going back

just wondering how good a deal did you get on the JRC from the show?

You got a pretty good deal at that price. My best piece of advice on the sounder would be to take your time with mounting the transducer! If possible, make a mounting plate or something so you don't leave holes in your transom if you move the transducer. When set up correctly they are great sounders.

Geez I am pissed off now they have bought the FF50 back out. For a while they were only doing the combo one, the Plot500F. That is what I ended up with but I only wanted a pure sounder. S#@ts me to tears because I can't get transducer speed and water temp up on the screen at the same time when I am trolling. Anyone wanna swap a Plot500F for a JRCFF50 if they are looking for a combo GPS/Sounder? Only done 70 hours odd of work.

As for its sounding abilitys, they are awesome. Love it to pieces. Your price sounds excellent but I think guys getting them in from the states are doing better. I paid $2,100 just over a year ago at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show. There will be some good screen shots on here if you do a search for my posts, Reefmasters, Zulus, Monos, etc., etc. Some of the top guys are using them.
