    Wanting to buy an EPIRB

I am looking at buying an Epirb for the added safty when in the bay and for when i go cross country sking. Would a personal EPRIB cover me if i went off shore? or would i need to by a normal EPRIB.
What brand should i look at and what features would be handy? I only want to spend around $200. Can you get a better location range then 10nm or 5mn for digital?

Steven dont worry about the skiing and just buy a standard GME epirb. You will be a lot safer and a lot warmer

Personal EPIRBS will work offshore but DO NOT fit in regulations as they don't float upright when deployed . Digital is mush more accurate but will ,not fit in your budget. Buy an anologe (however you spell it) and the batteries should run out around 2009 when only digital is to be used. The prices will fall fast then.
    Cheers, Jay
