    Trailer Too Long

Checked out my new place on the Sunshine Coast on the weekend - move there in a couple months. But there is bugger all parking for the boat. I am thinking that I might get it in the garage if I get a swing bar type trailer. The boat isn't huge - 4.5M - but it won't fit in the garage here in Sydney so I am sure it won't fit up there. Can anyone tell me what sort of over all length you save with a swing bar ?? And can I get the current trailer modified or do I need a new trailr ??

    Gidday gunna.

I had the same problem with my 4.75 m Sea Jay CC and found that by removing the winch post forward on the trailer (along with the spring/axle assembly) by about eight inches I could fit it in. The boat simply sat forward further on the trailer. Note that by moving my axle forward the cosame amount I maintained pretty much the same balance to the trailer. I had to flip my jockey wheel to the other side of the trailer, but that only took a couple of mins.

It all cost me about 2-3 hours of my time and $0 - too easy. Did it single-handed.

Surely if I can fit my 4.75 in a standard garage (albeit with about 1" to spare) you can fit your 4.50 in.

    Cheers

i just swing my boat in at an angle and it just fits.
another thought can you cut a piece out to let the motor through the back wall.

I could - if I thought the missus wouldn't know. But I suspect she might notice the motor in the walk in robe of the 3rd bedroom

That does sound like a good spot to hide it.
