Where to Buy a Bimini Top

Just wondering the best place to start looking for a new bimini top to suite a 385 Quintrex Explorer, either the sun is getting hotter or the age is catching up on me.

    Cheers

Got a 3 bow with envelope and extra pair of supports from BIAS here in Townsville for $295 DIY a while back....

Make sure you drill & rivet each end of the joiners when you get it together....It makes a heap of difference with its stability when putting up and down.

Thanks Guys, my next question is what size do you suggest 1.8m or 2.4m for the 3.85 explorer, it is 2.4m to the outside between seats. I mostly troll lures with occaisional casting spinner baits Etc.

I'd go for maximum coverage. In my 4M tinny, the bimini goes from the back of the boat to the back of the front casting platform.

3/4 of the boat is covered. As far as the width is concerned, same principle (max coverage) but try to make the bows splay out a little. Helps to reduce sideways movement.

    Two more things,
    1. Give our self enough headroom so you can stand upright under the bimini. Nothing whorse than always having to stoop down.
    2. I'd consider a light coloured bimini. Dark blue may look good, but it packs the heat.

I got a custom built one from a marine trimmer for $500. They are definitely worth the extra dollars. Its a full frame solid thing, not one of those fold up with straps jobs that they sell for $295 at the shops.
