Just bought a new old boat a SEAMASTER CAT 5.5 mt with twin 2001 90 saltwater mercs. Ive been playing around with the trimmming on the mercs and found that for a perfect ride my mercs are trimmed very differently as was wondering if this is the norm or they r set up wrong or im doing it wrong , can anyone help!

Mines the same, to get an even ride one of the motors is always trimmed more than the other. It also varies depending on the seas etc.
Mate, this is normal for a cat. It is not unusual to have motors trimmed with one up & one down, similar to foils on a mono. When I first bought my cat it took a while for me to work out the trimming of the motors in different sea conditions. But I did find that in good sea conditions it was much better with both motors fully trimmed, but there are many things that can affect the trim, weight distribution, sea conditions being just a couple of them. All the best.
By the way I remember the Seamaster in the early to mid seventies & they were a good sea boat at that time.
not sure wheather thats correct about the trimming
on my cat i had the two motors trimmed to the second last hole and thats were they stayed... no matter what the sea conditiond were.....
but that was MY cat ......

As I said many reasons for trimming boats differently. I owned the new model Kevlacat 21 Offshore and it definately was much better fully trimmed when conditions were good. I have two friends with Kevlacats 24 Offshore and they are much the same.
