    Texas style "longboat"

Well, actually a Columbian drug runner being apprehended by the Royal Navy...

I just thought the boat might be interesting to any longboat fans. Arlon

    Re: Texas style "longboat"

Actually it's the sharp shooter in the helicopter that was the problem for the drug runners..
Nice .30 group on a moving target..

ONLY 4 donks (if what i think 225hp then 1000hp)
most smuggler boats these days run atleast 6 and have see pics of them with up too 10 225hp yamahas
if anyone deals with hydrive they have the pic as it was their streeing system that made the thing have control

Definately a limiting issue for the "longboat" style of narrow hull. Just not wide enough for more than 1000hp. What a shame. Those guys are nuts....

Man they are serious and have the cash as they need the best of every thing to not get caught and speed is there main defence.Obviously not fast enought to outrun the chopper.

The fuel that they go through must be unbeleivable.

    4 225hp but imagine 10 of em

They must fix the motors and sell em back to the drug lords...as you can see the old bullet holes with tape over them.

Photo thanks goes out to the Royal Navy. I just posted them from their news site.
I have a fasination with this type of boats of all sizes. This was just the longest one I have found a picture of.
I am not associated with Law Enforcement other than having a few "cop" friends.

In my local bias store they have a photo of another smugglers boat,75'long RIB with EIGHT 250hp yamaha's ,the outside pair on both sides lift out on hydraulic slides on the thing is up on the plane. The french (i think ) navy caught it with helicopters, stripped it and broke up the hull.
    cheers jon
