Best grade of Aluminium for Hulls

    Hi Team!

Can anyone advise me on what a superior grade of Al ideal for boat hulls - in the 4.5-5m range?

What grade do today's manufacturers use for 3mm and 4mm plate? (In particular Allycraft and TABS)

What grade should they be using?

We are all aware of crappy cheap imported Al grades..

    Smelly!

Blackened is right, check the websites. On the Fisher Boat site Col states that he uses 5083 H321 grade. I would imagine that is of a high standard.
Also check what is required for survey of vessels. There are some boats that meet survey without modification to the building process such as Stabicrafts.
