SMELLY... have alook at the haines 490slf if ya can find one. about the same size as the 17L ,but the cabin is bigger the hull is wider. You still get the same haines ride , but they are better at rest. Having owned both(currently have 16r) iwould choose the 490 any day.
    should never have sold it.........

We have had a few now but the crew has grown a bit and it is not only the Haines boyz now but a great bunch of blokes that get together and have a great day on the water. The crew now consist of tinnies, crestcutters, whittley's and...and a southwind along with the HAINES.This is our next trip.

Hoges - Totally agree with the saftey part.

When "stability at rest" is stated, what exactly does this mean - does it mean when all crew is stationary in center - it can still roack and sway alot - or does it mean boat leans to one side if 1 or more people are standing on the same side together - or even both?

    21 degree deadrise. mine was 1989 model.....DAV0

    Darren,

Mate it was a beaut day out in the Southwind, pity the other 'club boys' couldn't make it .....
one bloke was doing his hair, another guy had to mow the lawns and our newest memeber is a painter who must really love his work as he told me he just painted his garage had had to stay home and watch it dry .....
all seemed like nice blokes over the phone tho

    Cheers,
    Tony
PS yeah mate ur welcome to deckie anytime ...
