Fibreglass Boat Keel Protectors

Does anyone know where I can get a keel protector for a fibreglass boat? I've heard of them before but cannot seem to find a retailer.

I know exactly what you're after. I think they are a 3m product and i know that graheme at wellington point marine has them.

A keel guard was on my boat when I bought it. It certainly protects the keel well at ramps etc and does not seem to interfere with handling in any way. Have had no problem with it adhering to the hull.

I've got a keel guard on the longboat, had it made and fitted at the factory when I got the boat. It works really well to protect it at ramps etc. No worries with handling. It just seems to be a fibreglass piece moulded to fit and stuck on with Sikkaflex.

They sent me a quote via email to suit my Signature 492 of $299.00 for a 6" white KeelShield, option to send it out by mail as well.

I think this is a good idea as I just finish my first Gel Coat repair on the base of the hull from the previous owner. My only concern is if I staff up the install as the webpage states it will not come off at all.......

I'm not, I simply repaired the small scratches and "thickened" up the leading edge with gel coat and all is as good as new.

I'm more careful around soft landings and ramps, the old 12 y/o girl is in great shape, almost like new.
