    Fishy9999,

Read another post by you, and was wondering why you would spend $25,000 to prove e-tecs are rubbish and on top of that, you said you'd probably need to spend a further $50,000 to prove your point.

This post you said you'd buy Yammys when you can afford it, May I suggest you use the money you are spending to prove e-tecs are crap and go and buy your yammy's.

    Hey all.

Been a long term johnno user in the past, and I
don't want to play the devils advocate, but,

with all the hype of 3 years / 300 hour service intervals,

my concern would be about the lower case oil,
    and annual impellor inspections...

    Do these get ignored?

    Harry.

The dealership who looks after my 90Hp Etec advises me to check it in every 12 months for a FREE check of impellers, pumps and oils.

    Cant complain about that.

A service at 300 hours will set me back circa $250 - $300.

    Cheers

    Re: Evinrude e-tec

    Hi All
My 200 HO E-TEC seized up at 3000 rpm with 18 hrs on it, no warning bell or signs at all. A fully dressed powerhead was installed witch overtemped while the mechanic was testing it on the water, Had afeww EMM probs ,but seems to be going fine now. Fuel economy is 17 ltrs per hr average, not bad pushing a Freedom Seasport 640 glass boat. Lokked at replacing it, but nothing has the grunt this has. Would have to go to a 225 or a 250 to match it. I will put a few more hrs on it and see how it goes.

Heard a rummor of a few blowing up after doing extended periods of trolling, and not getting warranty as they are not designed to troll. Anyone else heard this?
