Which way to go?
hey all,im looking at getting a mako craft estuary tracker soon, probably the 4.2m size.As i willl be on a relatively tight budget with the boat i am wondering if it would be more economical to purchase the tournament model with decks etc already there OR buy the basic bare hull and then take it to an aluminium welder and get frames bult in then do the decks myself and then carpet it all and do all the plmbing, wiring etc myself aswell?
Im looking at this from both a time and money perspective as to which one in the long run will save me more, bearing in mind the tournament version is about $4k more straight off.
Thanks in advance,BA.

DId you end up with the Mako craft? Which way did you go?
I am looking at the same boat - likely to buy the base boat, then set it up myself.
Keen to hear your views...

G'day
I have no idea but 4k is 4k. Do your sums wiht all the materials and see what you come up with.
I'd imagine a DIY would be significantly cheaper.
