Super V vs Fisher

Hello All,

I know this topic has been raised several times in regards to the plate boats of the industry but i have pretty much narrowed it down to two and cant make up my mind. We're looking at the 7.4 meter size, have been in a 7.4 super v at a test day in the worst conditions i've ever seen and it was unbelievable. Havent had a chance to ride in a fisher yet, missed out on their test day at bribie. The money is not really an issue, it should be, but we have bought cheaper boats in the past and paid the penalty, so no holding back this time.

perhaps go deckie for an ausfisher with a fisher for a day and get a feeling that way..

looks to me like the fisher boats finish is unbeatable...

Oh, to be in ur position having to choose between these 2 boats. lucky u. They're both top boats, the Nobles I've seen have a lot of smick cosmetic work, makes em look almost GRP.
Fisher has water ballast and Noble double chines, both work for stability.
Both are deep V.
Fisher is a boat building company, Noble is an engineering company, if that matters. The other thing to consider IMO is the OBs. Fisher power with Suzuki and not sure about Noble, u may be able to change brands if u wish. Have a ride in a similar sized Fisher, getting the same conditions isn't easy. regards

Personally, I think the super vee is a nice boat, nicely finished...but overrated IMO. We chased one in at Minnie Water last christmas and the Riptide was making easier work it...could have been a number of reasons trim, weight etc, but we certainly made better going of a washing machine sea and beat him in.

Col builds a beauty. A growing number of ausfishers are finding his fisher boats both up to spec and well finished. They certainly look the goods and those who own them are both happy with the product and the bloke that supplies them if the posts here are anything to go by.

I have a 7.4 noble supervee centre-cab powered by a 225hP honda and it is by far the best boat I have owned or have been in for a Platey.The 225hp honda pushes it along very easily as we were shocked on the first test run/fishing trip on how quick the boat went, tad under 40 knots.The boat is very stable at anchor and seems to travel better with more trim.I went for a honda mainly because the 225's have been around for 5 or more years and have proven to be extremely reliable and when you are 50Nm offshore that is all that really matters.

Fatsambo i would be taking col up on his offer for sure i would kill to have a ride in one of his boats but know if i do id be straaight off to the bank to up the mortgage.
