I have a poly front runner with a 50hp honda that cavitates a lot if I make a moderately sharp turn. The motor is set very low and I think I need to get it raised as the anti-cavitation plate is about 4inches under water and honda say 0-2 inches. Anyone care to comment?

Roy, that sounds way too low. #The manufacturer (of the boat) recommends for the 4.1 that the cavitation plate should be #roughly level with (or 10mm above) the bottom of the boat (not the keel). I think yours is probably a 4.5 - but it still seems too low.#Is the guy who put your motor on a regular agent for Polycraft? #You probably should have a chat to Steve Cooper. #He will set you straight.

I had a fair bit of trouble stopping mine (tiller steer 40HP 4st Suzi) from porpoising when I was just one-up. But the addition of a foil, putting a bit of weight forward, and the fact that I have electric trim and tilt has solved my problems and I'm now #a very happy camper.

Hope this is of some help. #I know how frustrating it is when your boat is not functioning up to expectations. #

Hope we haven't hijacked your post too much Tim #- if so , sorry
