115 DI evinrude
Considering the specials at the moment on the Di (making way for the etec's.)I'm interested in owners comments on these motors with 500+ hours.I know of a professional's motor that blew around 2000 hrs.
Is there much of a fuel saving considering the $$$$$ for that special oil.
All comments welcome.

Re: 115 DI evinrude
I own a 2000 DI 150 Evinrude with 230 hrs. Bit less fuel, fair bit quieter, starts first time eevery time, but runs a bit rough as ingnition changes over around 2000rpm, real smooth at other revs.
But I am a convert to the expensive oil, worth ever cent, no smoke and no smell.

Re: 115 DI evinrude
as an owner of a 115 etec, spend the little bit extra and get the etec.
Dealer must have had the ficht for a while if he still has one.
pm me if you want cost details

Re: 115 DI evinrude
I have a pair of 115 Fichts and have over 2,000 hours on them, ALWAYS use the correct oil (special OMC/BRP) and regular routine maintenance, smooth as and will idle for hours without drama or fouling plugs. I feel that they not as powerfull as the old 120 HP loopers I had, but really only "sip" fuel as distinct from the 120's, they took some feeding esppecially if you took them over 4,500 RPM
