    New Boat TrailCraft Profish 4.8

    Gday all,
I just brought a 4.8 trailcraft side console with a 90hp mariner on it and have found it pulls hard to the right as soon as i let go of the wheel. It doesnt fight as your driving just pulls hard to the right.
    Any ideas Why??????
before i get thrown over the side.

    Cheers

trim up should solve ur prob.the more u trim up the better it gets but u shouldn't be letting go of the wheel whilst traveling.

the other option is hyd. steering the shop should of advised u on the benifets of hyd. though.

turn the tab that's under the cavitation plate opposite to the side the motor pulls.
you say it pulls to the right, the tab is probably dead centre. try about an inch to the left. next time you go out take the correct size socket with you and adjust to get it right. you should be able to take your hands off the wheel without doing 360's, get her planing and trimmed out before deciding which way to adjust.

All you need now is wings , that thing must fly, if the steering pulls to starboard move the trim tab to the right, if it pulls to port move it to the left, move it just a little at a time, did you buy the boat new ? allways good to see some pics.

I think you need to revise this. The rule is move the tab to the side the boat pulls ie.. boat goes to right.. trim tab is moved to right... think about which way the tab will steer the engine

Yes I had the same prob, and asked the same question here and was told to move the trim tab to the same side the boat pulls and it done the trick
