First boat under $25k advice
Looking for some ideas re a first boat under $25k (second hand probably - maybe new) - to be used for river fishing and bays mainly but also relatively close inshore for flyfishing for tuna etc.
As I'll be flyfishing too, a forward casting deck would be nice but I'd be keener on not getting wet and maybe overnight in river mouths, thus need for a cabin (wife wants this too). I know I can't have everything.
A shortlist / preferences from experienced boaties would be great, as well as a "what to avoid".

sounds like you are after a bowrider style boat front deck up the front for the fly fishing, windscreen in the middle for the protection from the wind and more room up the back.
As for a brand of boat I would only buy a webster Twinfisher most stable boat around and great for the flyfishing
Good Luck and happy fishing

Thanks. What are the Webster's like in the ocean chop?
What are AMM and Galeforce boats like - both look the goods?

G'day
Just off the top of my head, the only other real deck layout that would suit your needs moreso than a bowrider is a centre cabin. Shelter for the overnighters, walkaround to fight the fish and plenty of space to cast the flies. As for th 25k pricetag, you will have fun searching
