    Max HP/Weight

Im looking at upgrading the motor on my 435 hornet trophy and was wondering that if the 4 stroke yamaha 50 hp weight is the same as the 60 hp what would happen if I put the 60 hp on when the max horse power for my boat is only 50 hp.

    G'day
First of all, go to yamaha's website for all the tech and specs. www.yamahamotor.com.au (i think...) Secondly, If you overpower your boat you will start cracking welds, make it unstable at high speed (more than likely) and void all of your insurance.

NoGoa, I think placing the larger motor would void your insurance! There is an australian standard i think on how to work out the max hp, Maybe the manufactuer could rerate the hull for you?

    thanks again, NoGoa
