    Oil for a suzuli

Any information as to the best oil to use for a Suzuki 115hp oil injected outboard? The motor is probably late 1980's. See attached pic. Thanks

Merc claim their 2 stroke oil contains twice the additive package of any other outboard manufacturer.

However, any outboard manufacturers oil will be worth using.

Steer clear of oil company 2 stroke oils because whilst they are a TCW3 spec oil, as Sal used to say "Oils aint oils".... and just becoause their oils "meet" the TCW3 spec, the outboard manufacturers exceed it considerably.

Hey Smacka, I have an identical suzy on mine (86') and have been using "evinrude johnson XD50" , pretty happy with it so far- bout $50 for 5L though.
Pretty stoked with my motor, hows yours?

I have a 1995 DT 85 Suzuki and use shell nautilus 20 bucks for 5 litres.
I figure it only gets used once and goes out the other end. Doesn't seem to be any carbon build up on the Top of the pistons, maybe the rings are couldn't say.

Thanks for your advice. My motor (x2) are 115s and have only just bought the boat, but they seem to be running great.
A few years ago i had a suzi 75hp on the back of a 14.5 haines hunter runabout, and it was a beautiful motor.
So i'M looking forward to using these . Testing tomorrow!

Just one thing I would do there smacka is take your oil tank off.
Plug your oil line with a golf tee so that don't get a bubble in it.

Then wash out your oil tank I noticed when I did mine the oil was gelling near the outlet for the oil line possible going to block it.

Thinking it's not good to mix oils for that reason.
I washed mine out with petrol then let it dry out before putting fresh oil back in it.
