    Tighten Bow Rail

One of the bow rail bolts is a little loose and you can shake a bit of movement out of it. Is that just a straight retighten or do you need to put a bit of sealant on the outside of the hull as well, to stop any water ingress? The inside bolt has that flowcoat on it. Should I put something on that to reseal it? The boat is a fibreglass half cabin.

    Thanks.

Have a look at the others first. Mine has a small foam pad between rail & boat to stop bare metal straight on glass.

But to answer your question, yes it is a straight retighten.

the big BUT is that the stainless bolt is more than likely siezed in the rail if it is alloy (if the rail is stainless there should be no problems), undo the bolt enough to put some sikaflex in the joint to seal it, retighten bolt and remove excess sikaflex with turps.
