Hi guys.... we're back!

It was pretty dark and glummy around here for awhile... but we've finally come out the other end of the tunnel!

We will NEVER be re-gelcoating a boat again!!

Masked her up... transom and half hull gelcoated

Gave the transom a quick sand and polish to get an idea of how she'll look

Day 75 - 83

Sanding, digging out black bugs that had landed in the wet gelcoat, more sanding.

Sanding, repairing pinholes in the gelcoat, more sanding

Sanding, repairing spots that had rubbed through and exposed old gelcoat, more sanding and you guessed it, more sanding.

Final spit and polish



Flowcoated some of the interior




and it was time to turn Play-Pen back over















Finally she is back where she should have been weeks ago!!

Great to have the saga up and running again, I was getting withdrawal symptoms. A bit like when the soaps finish on the tv for the missus for the Christmas season.

The boat looks 1st class and will be better than new!

Hi Bev
Would you please tell more about the problems with the appling of the gelcoat and what you have learned. Seems the rest is going so well and with the assistance of a well quallified glasser that there must of been so problems that he was also not aware of. It seems that sometimes the only way to learn is from mistakes, wether they be ours or someone elses
pm if you like but I think all your viewers would be interested.
