Level 4 Water Restrictions

Hi Guys
I live on N.S.W Central Coast and we now have level 4 water restrictions in place which means you can't flush your boat motors with mains water supply. Many years of poor water management.
SHI* , looks like I'll have to get a rainwater tank to fill the pool and flush boat motors. It makes you mad but what can you do , give up fishing ( I DON'T THINK SO ) , We don't have much water supply here below 16 % you have to do your bit but it pisses me off at the waste that goes on and we are bad offenders at wasting water . Things should be made easier to be able to offord these tanks I'm on dissability pension and put a little away each week for a rainy day (pardon the joke ) I' m lucky I can get one but how do you go if you can't offord the money .
I can't really use the boat until I can flush the motor so I'm praying for rain when I get the tank installed to fill up so I can get back out there.
Anyway I've had my winj I'm going to throw a line in off The Entrance Beach , see what I can catch

THis is, unfortunately, something that I am sure most if not all of us are going to face in the not to distant future.
And yet I still see people hosing down their decks when we are out in the canals on teh Goldie.
It opisses me off .

You should check with you dept transport and see what their ruling is in regards to who is responsible if you go out in teh boat and teh motor breaks down causing an incident .

HEre in Qld (at the moment- level 3) we are allowed to use a HAND HELD hose to flush the motor, and wash teh springs, as its considered esential maintenance and a safety issue.

Will have to wait and see what happens wWHEn we get level 4.

At worst mate you will always have water at teh beach, and it will rain one day

Good luck trying to get a tank
I ordered one six weeks ago and was told 3 weeks until delivery
It's now 6 weeks since I ordered it and have been told another 3 weeks!!
The tank companies have a licence to print money at the moment and it is really showing in their customer service. If they would be honest from the start and say 10 weeks wait and reply to the ocasional phone call it would be better than their current level of service.
It's not just one company either as I have friends that have dealt with a few others and they have the same story.
Have to remember them when things aren't as good for them and they can't afford to be so slack.

Not long ago there was an inovative member that was using a bucket with
a bildge pump.
It may just come down to us using our smarts doing what we do.

And to think that here in Qld we were given the option to recycle loo water back to drinking standard and have it pumped back into the dams and we Queenslanders voted a big NO and gave it the thumbs down. Biggest mistake we will ever make I think. If this drought continues we will no longer have water to flush the loos with to recycle.

When I was a kid in the sticks we only had tank water. Water deliveries were unheard of in those days (1974).
Even when the tanks were full us boys weren't allowed to pee in the loo which was an outside thunderbox that we had to carry down the paddock to empty when it was full of No. 2's.
We appreciated the water a bit more I recon because even for a bath we had to carry it to the copper and then carry it to the bath. We had quick baths because the 3 boys had to use the same water and the 2 girls had to use the same water. We only ever had a bath at the end of the day, never in the morning. If I can remember right we never ran out of water. Washing the car consisted of driving to the creek and using buckets (that was if we didn't drive the car in the creek to save a bit of carrying).
We had a great upbringing I recon. We may have missed out on a few things but we appreciate what we have now and I wouldn't want to swap my upbringing for anything
