hey i was looking to buy a tinnie just to run up creeks and places like that and just to geyt around places near so i dont have to get my bigger boat out. and mayb for some other fellas to use and some little tuckers.
so i was wondering if this is right that u dont need a license if ur engine is 5hp and less and u dont need ur boat regersterd if it is 15 hp and less.
Any information would be helpfull to tell me if this is right or wrong and if it is wrong could u please tell me the right hp's

I have a tinny for my boys with a 5 Honda. it has to be registered but no licence is required.
I think you will get away with a 6hp without a licence as long as it/they dont go over 10 knots

6hp no licsence, 4hp n under no rego, dont think the fisheries really enforce the 10knot rule, have seen many a boat with 6hp doing a bit better than that. Ya get those little 3m boats with 6hp on em and d*#kheads with no brain in em with no regard for any rules or edicate on the water.
