Call me paranoid if you must - but its a great idea with 7 posts not to come onto a forum like this to extol the virtues of any product or website. Grizzly old buggers like myself begin to think people who do that have some financial interest in the product whose virtues they are extolling.

I resent my ausfish website being infiltrated by people who are looking for a cheap (and nasty) way to advertise their product.

I have nothing against e-tecs. No first hand experience,nothing - just don't like being screwed.

My god you guys need to get out more, I'm not a dealer or anything, I just like them and posted my say.

So what if I only have 7 posts? must I bow down and pray to the likes of you or something?

I find your post offensive, and think your the one who needs to retract it, as its a way over the top reaction to a genuine post, no wonder people talk about this board and its over fanatical posters who wont let you say anything without jumping on you, guess I just met one!

Or will you just use your 'authority' and ban me?

OK Jack I'm happy to take your word for it. Thing is, that over time there has been a heap of people trying to use the site as a way of advertising product. Your post had all the earmarks of one of those.

The thing about the 7 posts had nothing to do with my "authority" - more to do with the fact that almost all of the people who sneak into the site to advertise have just a few posts and that is a dead giveaway that their motives are suspect.

Lots of people who have been here for a while voice strong opinions about products without being jumped on. This is because they have spent a bit of time establishing some credibility as a person who is interested in all things fishing rather than being a fly-by-night advertiser - of which there have been heaps.

I don't like the idea of offending anybody who has made a genuine post and if that is the case I humbly apologise. But a fanatic? I don't think so.

I apologise too if I was perhaps a tad strong on my reply.

ETEC is my new venture, I am a bit of a technology addict, and a firm believer in using what is available to live our lives to the best.

Once again I re-itterate I have no gain to be made from this post, and certainly aint no dealer. (wish I was!)
