    stainless steel Key ring type

-Easy to get on and off
    -Cheap to buy
-can use different floats (big or small)
-Simple 120mm dia by 6mm stainless steel ring turned 2.5 times so it doesn't bend or distort and its quick to put on an off the anchor line
-Chain goes thru the ring and anchor stays afloat

Capt has heaps of them too

120mm S/S ring left on the anchor line. It lives in the anchor well. very simple and cheap for what I do. It does not get the chance to roll around your feet or on the front deck. it can not fall over the side un-hooked and have to be chased down.

100mm stainless ring, cheap, simple and effective. Just make sure the head of your anchor will fit through the ring.

go with the anka yanka or a straight ring
if the anchor is stuck the float will come back up the rope
if you use the clip it will stop on the rope and will not move back up.
i nearly lost the anchor, rope, chain and buoy when using the clip whilst the anchor was stuck.
    luckily the anchor came free.

No brand names, just a simple stainless steel ring straight off the shelf.

Re: QUick Poll - Anchor Buoy Selection

250mm foam ball lifts 5kg of anchor and chain. I wouldnt go much heavier in the anchor for this size ball. easy to see how well it floats with the anchor and chain if you have a float
BCF sell the SS ring floats complete for $30 or if you like splicing ropes you can buy the stuff from the local chandlery. SS Ring $9, 250mm float $14 300mm $18.
    hope this helps
