Wanga , no email here , maybe looked like a wacky one , wifey deletes them.
Yeh some days i wonder why , but change is as good as a holiday.
Anyway i don't think trying to make a half a cat that is so unseaworthy you only take it up the creek , will help.
This tender might need to be very stable if you come for holidays again ... lol........
Ta Wayne , might have to email the rest...
anyway i want to get a tender to go on the roof of the boat in the picture...
So that when i get to some of those islands i can fish the bommies
that surround them at low tide.
As you can see hardtop is strong enough , but a tad high.
Any cost effective ways apart from a hiab much appreciated.
a 2.5m alloy punt (30-40kg) would be your lightest, most stable option, poly tuff tenders are heavy! (80kg), and I know of at least one that's been in for warranty with a split down the keel
you won't need a Hiab or Palfinger to lift a punt, maybe a hinged alloy davit or A frame with a small hand operated trailer winch.
built out of alloy, the davit or A frame preferably, hinged at the rear of the canopy, could be folded out to hang clear of the OB's, then using the hand winch, pull up the punt till clear of the water, then as the A frame is brought back on top of the canopy, the punt will lay on the A frame itself. launching would be a reverse action.
the hand winch would be performing most of the work on launching and retrieving, but manual labour will be needed to initially lift and lower the frame and punt on/off the canopy until the winch can take the weight.
that may not be the clearest, most detailed explanation of the procedure, I can elaborate if needed.
I feel this would be the most weight and cost effective way of doing it, you don't want to load up the canopy too much or it will effect your Borger's handling.
