    Hi Saurian

Pick up an old 10 ft tinny and stick a 2. something motor on it as well as some oars.

One man can manouver a 10 fter onto roof racks if you put a sheet of ply between the two racks. Keeps the salty water and sand off the roof too.

    Cheers

Re: What to use for Tender

    G'day saurian,

have you seen that flat folding boat that was on the Inventors, ABC TV.
a great idea, but may not be practical for boat topping and assembling at sea, still a real winner though.

the smallest tinnie and a 4hp, and it won't need to be registered.
just have lettering across the stern saying 'tender to ......... ' and stay within 2nm of the mother ship and you'll be OK.

    regards
    Steve

weight would be the factor if you are man-handling it onto the cab

Re: What to use for Tender

Thanks guys , The boats6.4 m alloy very stable with full alloy hard top ,
with side rails full length of top.
You can walk around on the hardtop.
I think a 4/5hp is probably the go.
Jack 412 , my main concern you have raised , how do i raise a 50 kg boat onto the roof without smashing the boat or myself.
I think i could just handle 40 kg.
Luc , tell me more about poly 3m, sounds about right.
I could use an inflatable , but I'm a rip his head off fisherman so
the inflatable would be deflated real quick.

Re: What to use for Tender

i agree with Luc. really sturdy little boats. only issue would be getting it up top. what about using a small fold-down hand operated davot.

Re: What to use for Tender

Fish guts ,yeh davit will work , but i only need to do it 6 times
    or so a year .
So price and extra height doesn't do it for me.
What I'm after is someone that can tell me a model of boat that is stable to fish out of yet doesn't weigh bugger all.
And hopefully someone thats been there done that , ie : someone
that learnt by trying different setups ...
But it is still not out of the question by anymeans.
    Ta ....

Teddy Bear , how are we , well someone has to island hop and fish up the creeks .
Just trying to find out what is the go in regards to barra/crab/tender setups.
Someone else is sure to have done it , and as you know i want the best of both fishing worlds .
    Hows the battleship going ?????
